Summer Camp

Mellow Spring traditionally, run camps during any period of schools closure (mid terms, Christmas, Easter and Summer) for 5 to 12 year olds to accommodate parents in need of casual childcare and especially those who have siblings in the Crèche. Places can be limited and fees are set depending on the length of time, but are traditionally around €60 for a week of mornings or afternoons. The camps follow a set seasonal program and the next Midterm will incorporate, seasonal planting in our new garden, an exercise program, arts, crafts and some computer skills. We also try to include a trip to a venue with some educational value.

Summer Camp:
For the months of July and August we run a camp for children up to the age of 12. Children can participate for one week or for the whole six week program. Places are limited so there are two sessions, one in the morning from 9am – 1pm and one in the afternoon from 2pm – 6pm at a cost of €4.50 per hour.
The summer camp is a way for children to participate in fun and games, outdoor activities and day trips. We also provide basic cookery and healthy eating lessons, computer application skills, and arts and crafts classes.

Easter Camp/Mid Term Breaks:
During mid –term camps we focus on the seasonal things happening around the children. Halloween, St Patrick’s Day and Easter, or Autumn / Summer nature programs specifically. We also try to give the children a sense of what’s happening in Dublin, like the visit of the Tall Ships, Dublin City of Sport and the recent Skyride(close the streets for cycling only in the city), of course Dublin’s All Ireland Football win and other large events.
As Easter has been late for the last few years, falling around the month of April, here at Mellow Spring we provide the same facilities as we do for the summer camp for the duration of the Easter school holidays or any other school holidays or mid term breaks that may occur. The same timetable and hourly rates apply.
